Indonesian authorities have reduced the amount of time international travellers will be required to undergo hotel quarantine from five days to three, as part of an on ongoing effort to reboot the country’s floundering tourism sector.
The reduced quarantine time will apply to fully vaccinated travellers who can show a negative PCR test result, taken prior to arrival as well as at the end of the quarantine period.
Domestic travellers who are fully vaccinated will need to have a negative rapid antigen test result in order to travel within the country. People who have had one vaccination will need to show a negative PCR test result.
Indonesia is also hoping to establish a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) with Australia where fully-vaccinated citizens travelling between the two countries will not be required to quarantine for any period of time.
There are presently 19 countries who are eligible to travel to Indonesia subject to the three day quarantine restriction, however it is expected that the VTL arrangement will be rolled out to other nations in the coming months, to facilitate international participation in a number of major events being hosted by Indonesia early in the new year.
