Reports out of Jakarta suggest that Bali is indeed ready to open it’s doors once again to international tourists as the coronavirus vaccination rollout hits it’s target rate of 70%.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Sandiaga Uno, confirmed that the rollout effort was in full swing and that Bali had now achieved Green Zone status. Three regions have been categorised as Covid-free zones; Ubud, Nusa Dua and Sanur. The Sanur zone is expected to incorporate the Gili islands, off the coast of Lombok, which have reported no active cases of the virus since the outbreak began.
The Minister said the declaration of Covid-free status should provide a sense of security and comfort for tourists.
