A further 14 countries have been added to the initial list of five countries eligible to obtain Indonesian tourist visas, announced in early October.
The eligible countries are Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Liechtenstein, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and Norway.
Under the travel arrangement, tourists need to be double vaccinated and need to show evidence of a negative rapid antigen or pcr test taken in the days prior to arrival.
All potential tourists will also be required to quarantine for 5 days on arrival at there own expense in an approved quarantine hotel.
This last condition has proved unpopular with potential holiday makers, many of whom would typically spend a week or less at their travel destination and thousands have already cancelled travel plans as a result.
At this stage, two of Indonesia’s nearest neighbours, Singapore and Australia, are not part of the eligible countries list however, it is believed that plans to include both countries are already well advanced.
Jetstar Australia has bought forward plans to resume flights to Bali from late March to early February.
