Australia’s national airline, Qantas and Queensland based carrier, Virgin Australia have announced plans to resume flights to Denpasar, Bali from late March next year.
Initially, Qantas flights will depart from Melbourne and Sydney with services from other cities resuming once each State’s lockdown restrictions are lifted.
Virgin, has announced the commencement of flights from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Both airlines have begun scheduling flights to Bali based on present assumptions about Indonesian authorities ability to ensure vaccination rates are high enough to limit the spread of infection and mandatory quarantine requirements being lifted for fully vaccinated travellers.
The popular tourist destination is itself planning to reopen parts of the island to international tourism from next month.
The Australian airlines’ plans to resume services could be pushed back however, or put on hold if the island were to experience further outbreaks.
