New daily cases of coronavirus as well as covid related deaths are continuing to fall in Indonesia, according to latest figures.
In the week to August 20, the country reported 145,361 new cases and 8,885 deaths for an average 20,765 cases per day and 1269 deaths.
These figures represent an a 25% decline in average daily case numbers and a 20% drop in the number of deaths, compared to the previous week.
This brings the total number of infections reported in the archipelago since the beginning of the outbreak to 3,950,304. There have been 123, 981 reported deaths.
A low 15,678 new cases were reported on August 18, the smallest daily increase since June 23 and well down on the record 56,967 new cases reported on July 15.
August 18 also saw 1128 deaths down from the record high 2,069 deaths recorded on July 27.
